Evocations Review publishes work that addresses feminism, queer topics, pop culture, politics, mindfulness, and environmentalism. Evocations is dedicated to publishing works featuring non-mainstream, non-patriarchal, LGBTQ+, POC, and emerging voices to promote intersectionality and inclusivity in textual and cultural consumption.

- Payment offered for winners of contests, which run once per issue usually.
- Each reading period there is a limited amount of free submissions, at a certain threshold of submissions a reading fee will start to apply to submissions to support the reading labor of fair, critical evaluation in the event of a magnitude of submissions. It thus benefits one to submit early in the reading period for free submissions.
